Herbed Turkey Sausage

Turkey sausage is deceitfully easy to make. Add stuff to ground turkey meat. Cook. Eat. Who knew? Well, now we do. I make this version with fresh herbs, but dried would also work. I think that making your own turkey sausage patties for breakfast is a very special treat that doesn't take very special effort. This is my favorite kind of special treat. It is also beyond healthy for you. Turkey meat is good for us and the only fat is the addition of olive oil, which is also the healthy fat. These sausages are full of amazing flavor and they are actually not full of pesky fat that goes right to our bottoms and lives there forever. Not that I mind delicious fatty foods. On the contrary, I relish the chub, but when I can get my hands on something that is tasty and healthy, I get to have my cake and eat it to...well...not cake, but you get the idea.
Herbed Turkey Sausage
Ingredients:
1/2 lb. turkey meat
1 small onion
2 cloves garlic
3 Tbs. each basil and parsley
2 Tbs. olive oil
salt and pepper

1. Turn out the turkey meat into a bowl.
2. Chop the onion, garlic, and herbs and add to the bowl along with a generous pinch of salt and pepper.
3. Mix this together with olive oil until well combined.
4. Form into patties and fry in a frying pan that you sprayed with non-stick spray.
Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side until the sausages are cooked through.
Serve up and enjoy with other breakfast treats.

  1. Wait really? That's it? It's that easy? Otherwise, ground turkey can be so bland.
